| In this scene from 'How I met your mother' its an low tilted angle shot of the streets of new York outside 'Mclaren bar', the reason why this
camera shot is at this angle is because they want to show what is happening in
an large area. for example, there are umbrellas suggesting that it's raining and the
colour seems to be dull and damp but having an odd colour stand out (yellow umbrella) shows that there is something unique and hopeful about the scene.

Daniel - this is a detailed and accurate analysis of one shot but you should have analysed a variety of shots - XCU, CU, MS, LS, XLS, Low angle, 2 shot, shot-reverse shot etc
ReplyDeleteYou need to start incorporating more media language in your analysis. Comment on the elements of the mise-en-scene; what does this image denote? What does the yellow umbrella connote? etc. Look back at the micro analysis terms we have covered this term.
It may prove useful if you ran 2 blogs - one for personal use and one for media homework!
